My kingdom for a pizza strip! This is a Rhode Island staple, plain and simple. If you're in the area and you're craving a tomatoey snack then you need to head over to West's and get some strips. ...and if you don't like them the CT border isn't far, and someone will be glad to point you in a direction out of town.

They now take credit cards! My favorite bakery just got a little easier to go to. Next time you go for breakfast, try the country breakfast burrito and a grilled cinnamon roll.

Phenomenal pastries and prices. Cute little place to have breakfast and get take out too! The donuts, muffins and breakfast sandwiches were all good. Rock bottom prices too! $1.50 for the most expensive pastry but well worth it.

My family has been coming here for over 50 years, all bread including grinder rolls are made fresh daily and awesome. Bismarcks jelly and butter creme filled cruller like dessert are phenomenal.

We were in town for a softball tournament and found this place on yelp. It was excellent and reasonably priced. Baked goods were yummy. My corned beef hash was one of the best I have had!

Great deli / restaurant conveniently located off of 95. Had the BLT and it was a perfect size and delicious. My boyfriend had the burger with peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese and he liked it. He ordered it medium rare and it came out well done but it was still good. He also loved the fresh role. Very friendly staff and clean space.

Hit or miss on a few things. The good: the cookies, bismarks, and the fruit bars. Wasn't crazy about their sandwiches, but they do have good ice cream.

We love West's!! We travel from Johnston to have their great affordable breakfast. Their home fries with the sliver of fried onions are fantastic and the country atmosphere can't b beat!!! Start your day off right with breakfast at West's!!

A find . Great food. Must try the Bismarck and the cinnamon bun. We happened here by accident and so glad we did. Great service.

Fantastic breakfast. Attentive service and yummy baked goods. Donuts only available on the weekends and sellout early. The grinders (subs) are a local staple for lunches.

Ok since my Dad is the mayor of this place, I think I sort of have to give them 5 stars haha. I am kidding guys, West's doesn't get favoritism from me because of that, they are honestly a damn good bakery. Question me? Have a Bismark (or a Berliner for you worldly folk). Their sandwiches are quite tasty and the service is very welcoming to alter any menu item to your pleasing (this is a local place people not a chain!). The old-town feel to the restaurant set up is very nice too. Trust me, if you take a pit stop off of 95 to West's you won't regret it.

Eat-in for breakfast and lunch, take-out for sweets. But when you eat-in, make sure you order their cinnamon roll grilled with butter (these seem to sell out by 10:30ish so get there early!). Other favorites: pancakes, grilled cheese, fries, homefries, coffee, donuts (and of course, bismarks!). Grab a loaf of their Italian, too!

Went to West's Bakery for their breakfast. Okay, imagine if you going some place where the people cooking the food know a bit about baking and pastries. Let us just say they are passionate and really know what to do with the odd flour, water, cream, salt, sugar ... concoctions. Now, let us just say they decided to take all of those skills and make a step to making breakfast. Yes, you can see it in your minds eye right now. So if you are a pancake fan, you must try these. Also, I had a bacon and cheese omelet. Now normally I would tell you on is roughly as good as another, but not the case. This one was wonderful. Not too eggy, real bacon just made on the grill and real good cheese. The Pancakes were amazing (I had one on the side). The wife had french toast with banana and cinnamon sugar. All were perfect. So the secret is this, they are a bakery. They made the bread before they made the French Toast. They made the English muffin before they served it to me. The made the pancake mix, from scratch knowing the secrets that only bakers know around how to make a flour mixture magic. Then, as you are sitting there in amazement, you remember that you read Yelp and remember something mentioned that looked like a hot dog. So you look around, and you see the display case. There they are, the Bismark. Let me warn you, if you eat this, you will feel as though the universe has somehow changed. Yes, it is that good. It is like a long donut pastry, shaped like a hot dog bun filled with homemade cream and a raspberry jam. So why not a 5 then? Well, they seem to be missing something. I am not sure what it is. It might be my issue. Is it a diner? Is it a bakry? It is amazing and I will go back and see if I can find that thing that is missing. Down Side: Cash or Check only.

Open on weekends Little fat pills? Best get two Get a summer cone Wests is one of those places that locals use as a landmark when giving directions. One because it's on the corner of a strange bend in Rt. 138 and Two because it's been there forever and if you don't know it, shame on you. Everything is fresh; get there early because they don't keep frozen stock. The sandwiches are made with homemade bread that is the perfect consistency and won't get soggy under a fresh tomato. The muffins are best when they're grilled, that way you can be sure to eat the tops last. And the bismark's are little fat pills that you should never, ever feel guilty over eating (especially with one in each hand.) They'll always throw together a box of donuts and some coffee to go, but if you sit in for breakfast, there's a good chance you'll never see the bottom of your mug, and you can stay for as long as you want without feeling rushed. Points deducted for the nearly weekend only hours

Hey, what are those things that look like cream-filled buns in the display case? They kind of resemble lobster rolls, but they're right next to the cookies. Those are Bismarcks - delicious pastries that taste jelly donuts, yet are best eaten like hot dogs. These things melt in your mouth, and the cream filling is light and fluffy enough to keep you from feeling too awful about stuffing your face with them. There's also some delicious-looking grinders and a lunch counter here, but I'll save those for another visit.

Had breakfast here this morning. Tried the bismarck, grilled cinnamon roll, grilled blueberry muffin, eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, and coffee. The food was very good overall and I will come back. I like how the sides are priced separately too and cheap enough to just add what you want. Also took home a brownie and rasberry bar. Brownies are really good., rasberry bar is a bit thick for my taste and the filling wasn't great. Good rasberry jam has a strong flavor to it and this was more artificial. Bacon was perfect. I prefer mine more soft and not as crispy. Bismarck was good but needs more of the fruit filling. It's mostly cream with only a small amount of fruit flavor, not quite right. I'm just not much of a cream puff person I guess. It needs enough fruit to make it work. Blueberry muffins are full of blueberries. I love how they cut the top off the cinnamon roll so you have the frosting part with less dough to eat then the cinnamon rasin bottom to butter. Coffee was really good The staff was nice but service was a bit too slow with refilling coffee and taking the plates away. I waited ten minutes twice for her to come around to bring coffee and I do push the empty cup away so its clear its empty. The place was not busy and the second time I was done eating at this point and the plates had been sitting at the edge of the table for at least ten minutes. It's small enough that the staff can always see you so there is no real reason for this. I hate tourist season because everyone hires young girls and most of them are terrible at their job. Also they said on facebook that all week they have a caprese benedict special, a big reason why I wanted to come here. So I go in and they don't have it. The girl said that they have caprese specials if the owner has brought in basic from her garden. Ok fine but there are 2 regular items on the menu that are also caprese so that means you need to keep basil around and if you run out you need to go to the store and get some. I'm all for gardening and keeping it local but if it's on the menu you should have it. Its mid morning on a weekday so there was time to prepare. There were a couple small bags of tomatoes and a zucchini at the counter for sale so that was nice. They use styrofoam for their takeout containers. not cool

Awesome! Good Yelp reviews led us here en route to see family. Tuna melts were delicious... then we had grilled scones and muffins (amazing) and doughnuts (so good). The perfect lunch stop. Wish I lived closer so I could go back fir the legendary Bismarck!

Two things you get at West's Bakery are the strip pizza and the Bismark whip cream filled "doughnut". The word doughnut is in quotations because you have never had a doughnut like this ever in you life. EVER. Call ahead and reserve them if you have too.I'm serious. This place is down home, small town, and the West family still helps you at the counter. I love supporting small business. Breakfast is ok, but the baked goods if you know which ones to get are the best you can get in RI.
